Ed's Notes: No, this is NOT the Wizard of Arthurian legend.  Merlin is a hyper intelligent leopard-like cat that acts as Baron Winters' conscience of sorts.

The Georgetown mansion's portals into the past have selective controls. Note: Visitors normally cannot enter the mansion without the Baron's permission. Uninvited guests have been known to enter the mansion in the present day, however. The Mansion also has a Mana Factor of +2 (see page 19 of the Magic Sourcebook)

Ed's Notes: Well... THIS could certainly be an interesting NPC and weird location to play with. I can see it now, a note on the door...

BTW, that "Mana Factor" of +2 means that, inside Wintersgate, all PC's with the Sorcery Power gain an additional 2 AP's of the Power to use in that location. Note that they will still be subject to the same (now increased) bashing damage against their Spirits.
