Ed's Notes: What a cool way to have a really high-powered Hero, while at the same time giving the player a lot of flexibility and challenging them at the same time.
2nd Edition has his Body at 5(13), Heat Vision at 14, no Invulnerability, Microscopic Vision at 15, Power Reserve at 14, Sealed Systems at 11, Super Breath at 12, Superspeed at 13, Systematic Antidote at 18, and Telescopic Vision at 13. It also gives him the Skin Armor Power at 12.
Perhaps most notably, it includes the Limitation: Powers can only be used one at a time. Which is more comic-accurate according to Ilznidiotic's comment, below.
First Appearance: Adventure Comics # 307 (April, 1963) |
In the comics, superspeed and super strength are separate. He can't use them at the same time.
ReplyDeleteI copied the notes from the Who's Who 3rd Edition, but the sourcebook has the Limitation, "Powers can only be used one at a time." Which jives with what you're telling me, and is just... SIMPLER. I'll have to make some adjustments.
DeleteAs a long time fan of Ultra Boy and how he was written in the 1st ed I would say that this is a more accurate way of doing it.
ReplyDeleteUltra-Strength: Strength
Ultra-Speed: Superspeed
Ultra-Breath: Super Breath.
Ultra-Invulnerability: Body Invulnerability, Sealed Systems, Systemic Antidote.
Ultra-Flight: Flight.
Ultra-Vision: X-Ray Vision, Telescopic Vision, Microscopic Vision
And separate from the other vision based powers is
Flash Vision: Heat vision
