Whispering Death [Causes everyone within range to hate each other (Broadcast Empath: 18), Casting Time: Instantaneous (0 AP's), Necessary Components: None, Special: Each AP of Casting Time added adds +1 AP to the effect. Thus by adding 32 AP's of time (roughly 400 years), he can boost the AV/EV to 50/50. (This would affect the entire planet)]

This guy is the Big bad of the Golden Age. He can challenge even the Spectre. 'Niff said.

I did re-word (and re-stat) the Whispering Dead Ritual, but this way everything adds up, according to the WaW Sourcebook entry.

She started her career as a Japanese operative for Axis Amerika, but underwent a heel-face turn and joined up with the Young All-Stars. One of the rare aquatic characters than can survive indefinitely out of the water (at least according to the game) and would be pretty tough to take down in the water for all but the heavier hitters.

Ed's Notes: Wonder Twin Powers... ka-BOOM! A worthy sidekick to T.N.T., who became a respectable hero in his own right. This could be a REALLY interesting character to play, especially if another PC was willing to play the mentor, T.N.T., to be killed off after a game or three.  He's got room to develop. Also, as usual with sidekicks, why doesn't he have:

Advantage: Connection: T.N.T. (High)? Also: Insta-Change, as Stoic mentioned in the comments section below.

Ed's Notes: Wonder Twin Powers... ka-BOOM! How does his "power" work, exactly? Why the RING? Ins't it the RING that has the Bomb Power? (or the two combined?) Or is there something in the ring(s) that activates it? I'm confused. Also, is it really a RESPONSIBLE use of your POWER to experiment on yourself, grant yourself super-powers and then do the same to a student and then recruit that student into a life of crime-fighting? No. No, it is NOT. Lol.  And why give the other Ring to Dyna-Mite anyway? After T.N.T. died, Dyna-Mite used BOTH RINGS by himself. So why shouldn't BOTH of the have TWO RINGS right from the start? (And who the fuck who name their kid, "Thomas Thomas?!") 1940's weirdness, I guess. Aw well... At least he has a kick ass leitmotif....

Ed's Notes: Me-yOUCH! The Golden Age Tigress is a badass! Another Femme Fatale of the Golden Age, the Tigress (originally known as the Huntress) was one of the few Young All-Stars that actually debuted in the Golden Age rather than post-Crisis as a fill-in. The WaW Sourcebook doesn't say where the arrows come from, or how many she has, or how long it takes to load the Crossbow... Assume [Ammo: 1], that she has a... bunch? on her... belt? and it takes either an automatic action or 1 phase to load? (Yes, that's a very different tactical situation, but either one is better than firing round after round with impunity! lol)

BOOTS [Body: 5, Cling: 4]

Source: World at War Sourcebook, page 68
affiliation(s): All-Star Squadron

Ed's Notes: THIS IS NOT A SPIDER-MAN RIPOFF! Seriously. In addition to a slightly different (and weaker) power set, and a different origin and background story, the Golden Age Tarantula debuted about 20 years before Marvel's Spider-Man! There is also a modern version of the character that's been gender-swapped. I don't know much about her, but these stats could serve as a useful starter template for her.

First Appearance: Star-Spangled Comics #1 (October, 1941)

JET PACK [Body: 4, Flight: 9, R#: 4]

Ed's Notes: Like the Human Bomb, another scientist that got stuck into one of his experiments.  This guy would not only make a good "engineer" for any group, but a pretty solid tank as well. Skin Armor is a very cheap power to raise up, carrying none of the limitations of Force Field, yet all the benefits in game terms.  Plus... Scientist? Robotics expert? A PC can pretty much go ANYWHERE with that in term of modifying themselves!  It worth noting that this is the Golden Age Robotman, and NOT the one of Doom Patrol fame, although, I suppose he could be used as a stand in, or a template to create that character.  (At the time of this entry, I have not yet found any stats for the newer, Doom Patrol Robotman character.)

BEES [Dex: 14, Str: 1, Body: 2, Initiative: 14]

Source: World at War Sourcebook, page 64
affiliation(s): All-Star Squadron

Ed's Notes: If anyone is thinking that fighting crime with a "swarm" (small enough to fit in a BELT BUCKLE) of bees is a dumb idea, well, he once ranked fourth on a list of the crappiest superheroes in comic book history. So... YOU'RE NOT WRONG!  In game terms, using critical blows and/or devastating attacks, the bees can take out (OV/RV) 2/2 and 3/3 mooks one at a time with reasonable rolls, and even small groups with good rolls. But... taking out low-level mooks is not exactly hard... unless you're trying to do so with a relatively small swarm of trained bees! Maybe somewhere out there is a nigh-unstoppable super-villain with a Fatal Vulnerability (Allergy) to Bee Stings. And ON THAT DAY...

Ed's Notes: This is an interesting character, considering when he came out. Not only is his super-power (shtick, really) Asian-style Martial Arts, but his costume in an inversion of Imperial Japan's "Rising Sun" Flag.

Ed's Notes: Like the joker, but he a good guy?  I wish they had statted out some of his gags... I mean... What would a cream pie to the face do to a Nazi?  How would the bank robbers be affected by the sneezing powder? Per GM's discretion and PC's Hero Poitn expenditure, I guess?

Ed's Notes: Wow. It's worth mentioning that the Golden Age / World at War characters almost NEVER have the "Unwanted Power" motivation, but HOW can that not be at least part of his?!  He swallowed the secret chemical he was working on (27-QRX) when the Nazi's attacked his lab, so that they wouldn't get a hold of it, and it turned him into a (the) Human Bomb. Can you image what would happen if that stuff WAS being used by, say... the JOKER?! Or really any guy with a bunch of easily manipulated mooks?! (Wait... Actually, that could be really FUN! I need to do that!)
